Editorial Guidelines

Last updated: 29/08/2025
You come to Happening Intelligence for insights you can trust. Those insights are only useful if they are accurate and well-considered. This page gives you a behind-the-scenes look at some of the ways we make sure our content meets the standards our readers expect.
Values
Our values guide everything we do. This extends to every part of our product and business, including what we publish.
  • Approachable – Our guidance is easy to understand and puts people first, not algorithms.
  • Empowered – We equip teams with insights and tools to make confident decisions.
  • Curious – We explore deeply, question assumptions, and seek root-cause understanding.
  • Observant – We notice patterns, relevance, applications, and subtleties others might miss.
  • Thoughtful – Every insight considers relevance, practicality, usefulness, and potential consequences.
Approvals Process
Every article on Happening Intelligence undergoes a thorough review before publication. At least three people, including two executive level team members, proofread each piece to ensure it is technically accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with best practices. We also periodically revisit content as new information emerges, so our guidance stays current and trustworthy.
Critical Thinking and Due Diligence
We aim to think as carefully as we write. Every article is crafted with attention to reasoning, evidence interpretation, and the connections between ideas. Drawing on techniques from critical thinking and cognitive science, we challenge assumptions, highlight important nuances, and ensure our conclusions are coherent, insightful, and practically useful for teams navigating complex problems.
Using Generative AI
We embrace generative AI in the writing process as a companion. AI helps us draft ideas and even challenge us on our concepts, but every article is designed, created, and written primarily by a person. We are vigilant about AI hallucinations and correct or remove them the second they appear, combining the efficiency of AI with the rigour and discernment that we would like to see across content on the web.
Accuracy and Fact Checking
Every fact in our articles is verified and cross-checked against the most reliable sources available. Our 'green standard' is a large study that reflects the audience whose behaviour we are interpreting, with robust methodology, a control group, statistical validity, blinding, and randomisation. While we rarely have the perfect study when it comes to tech industry content writing, we aim for this standard every time, updating references and insights as new information emerges.
Handling Feedback and Corrections
We know even the most careful processes aren’t perfect. When errors are spotted, we correct them promptly and update the content to keep it reliable. Reader feedback is always welcome, it helps us maintain guidance that’s accurate, thoughtful, and useful. If you notice something that needs attention, please get in touch via our contact page and include the URL of the blog or piece you’re referencing.
